CARING FOR HAITI'S CHILDREN
In 1999 Guesno and Majorie Mardy felt compelled to improve the lives of the masses of Haitian street children in desperate need of nutrition, a home, and love. Having only Guesno’s income from driving a taxi, he and Majorie decided to take in 17 Haitian children, and Foyer de Sion orphanage was born.
With thousands of needy children still on the street, the Mardy's act was a barely- detectable change, like a butterfly stirring the air with its wings. Saving all of Haiti’s children loomed like an insurmountable feat, yet the Mardys believed in the butterfly effect -- they may only be able to give hope to 17 children, but somehow that hope would ripple out in the world, gaining momentum to help more children in Haiti.
This rippling of hope has reached over 250 Haitian children to date, feeding them, protecting them, and finding them loving families and homes. Somehow that wave of hope has reached you. You have found Foyer de Sion, and have the opportunity to increase this surge of hope with your love and compassion. What donation can you offer: Time? Financial Assistance? Volunteer Trips? Medical or other Professional Services?
Please support Foyer de Sion and you will be lifted and transformed with the same wings of hope that you offer to the Haitian children.
